Max is a senior communications leader at the City of Charles Sturt, providing specialist advice across digital and traditional platforms for the last 4years in Council’s Media, Marketing and Communications Portfolio. He transitioned into the local government sector following a decade in media roles in the professional sports industry with the Adelaide Football Club, South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) and AFL Media.

DR NERYL EAST - LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST

After an extensive media career, Neryl spent 15 years in senior local government communication roles. 

As well as partnering with councils around Australia to elevate their communication skills, she now coaches government leaders at the highest level on communicating high-stakes messages with clarity and connection. 

Neryl has a PhD in Journalism and is the author of five books including an Amazon best-seller on media and reputation.
