Beyond ChatGPT: Understanding the impact of generative AI in local government
Wednesday 16 August, 8.30am to 10am
The Terrace, Marion Hotel, 849 Marion Rd, Mitchell ParkÂ
Registration: $55 per person inc GST
By now, there’s a good chance staff in your Council are using ChatGPT as a time-saver and research tool – either officially or in the background.
What you mightn’t realise is that ChatGPT is only the beginning of a major shift in the way we communicate. There are close to 100 free, publicly available tools that use generative AI in everything from creating reports and spreadsheets to manipulating images, producing presentation slides, generating voice-overs and much more.
Many councils haven’t begun to scratch the surface on the rules required to manage these tools to address risks such as data security, privacy and copyright – let alone ethical issues and potential risks to credibility and reputation.
Join local government communication and credibility specialist Dr Neryl East at this limited Adelaide event where she’ll give you a snapshot of the breadth of generative AI tools already available and the issues you need to be aware of right now as a local government professional.
You’ll take away:
Â
- A new awareness of key generative AI tools, well beyond ChatGPT
- A deeper understanding of the benefits and risks of integrating generative AI into your key operations, such as development assessment letters, policy/reporting writing and external communication
- Heightened appreciation of the governance requirements and your next steps
Â
Â
Places are strictly limited. If your Council would prefer you to pay by EFT rather than by credit card, please email us at [email protected] and we'll arrange your registration and invoiceÂ
Light refreshments will be served.
